Verum Timore is meant to be a horror game on a submarine. It's meant to be different than most horror games that scare you with jump-scares. Instead of scaring you with a loud noise and something jumping in front of you, it scares you with a few different things.

It uses common fears like, the ocean, darkness, claustrophobia, arachnophobia, and isolation to combine into what I think is a terrifying game.

You are in a small group of survivors but the can only talk to you with your earpiece. You have to listen to them and try to escape before all of you are killed.

The game is in the pre-alpha right now so don't expect everything to be the same, I'm planing on adding a lot more like fixing some audio, adding more to the game, and improving some graphics. The cover art for the games is going to be changed that was just quickly made so I could upload this.

There is a new build coming soon that ads a lot of new features and a new submarine for you to avoid death.

I'm sorry that the game isn't as good as a lot of other games, I have no money to make the game with and I'm the only developer except for one person that agreed to do voice acting on Reddit. Despite that I still think its a good game and it will be even better when I finish it.

Tried out your game and reviewed what I was able to get till I got stuck at a door lol! Looking forward to the final release!

Pyrotechnic in Verum Timore!

Is it somehow related to Timore game series (Timore, Nox Timore, Timore Inferno, Timore Avaritia)?

no its not I haven't seen those games. the title is in Latin it translates to true fear

The sea, closed space and darkness are I think a good combination for horror. The level design for many parts is very dark and it's really challenging to just see where you're going. But it looks quite promising at this point. Having the game's folder called generically "game" may cause some unexpected problems when you try to install it, though.

If you're interested, you could enter our annual Game Development World Championship at some point maybe!

Hi, responding to your comment.  my email is maxwellljann@gmail.com  can we talk there?  P.S. can you put your game in the browser rather than downloadable?

Ok I'll email you and I cant make a browser version right now because I don't have the files of that version and if made a build it would be of the unfinished update, When I release the next update I will make a browser version.

The graphic quality is nice.

The sound system terrible. Give it an update and fix the dialogue first. I can hear all the clicks of the mouse while I am playing with the headphones. The soundtrack is okay however not atmospheric. You could change it with something more horror. There is blood on the walls however nothing to be afraid of.  The game needs an antagonist.

I cant do much to fix the dialog because I don't have a budget to higher a voice actor, but I can try and fix the background music. There is going to be an antagonist in the next update the game is still in pre-alpha so a lot is going to change, I just didn't have the model done yet, and the blood on the walls isn't meant to be scary its just meant to be in the background to show that something happened.

Great to hear it!

Waiting for more updates
